Team Policies

Team Policy for Pre-game Arrival

You will enjoy your Carney Pirate experience more by maximizing your tremendous skills and potential and pre-game time gives the Coaches an opportunity to set up plays and strategies. The Carney Pirates arrival policy is as follows:

Weekday Games

Be at the field two hours before game time.

Weekend Games

Be at the field 1-1/4 hours before game time.

Game Attendance

The Carney Pirates organization was formed to help talented athletes prepare for their next level of competition. We are confident the more you play under the leadership of our veteran coaches and alongside your highly skilled teammates, the better prepared you will be. This statement of course is secondary to your health and we will always encourage you to only play at your healthiest, resting or rehabbing any injuries before rushing back. We also recognize that for many, this is a time of dynamic transition requiring a significant amount of non-baseball demands on your time. With that in mind, we understand and permit the occasional absence. What we insist upon is advance (or in the case of an emergency, as soon as reasonable) notice of your upcoming absence. The coaches spend a lot of intellectual energy crafting strategies to allow equal playing time and a no-show messes up their complex scheduling and wastes their time.

SUMMARY: Inform the coaches as soon as you know when you are scheduled to miss a game. Don’t do it out of fear of punishment, do it out of respect for your coaches and teammates.

Uniforms Policy

White pants when Carney Pirates are home team.

Gray pants when visiting team.

After more arguing than Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks in a cell phone catfight, the Carney Pirates players have tentatively agreed upon a pants policy. It no doubt disappoints some of our fashionistas and is the worse option until all other alternatives are considered.

The team will wear WHITE PANTS when we are the home team (regardless of shirt) and GRAY PANTS when we are the visitors.  So, to build success momentum, when it’s a home game - wear WHITE PANTS. Because these macho men don’t do their own laundry (most likely a loving Mom has to) the boys cavalierly suggested, “Just bring both colors to every game”. That’s a family decision the Boss can decide - our policy is as stated above. And I thought girls and their makeup were bad!
