The Carney Pirates are the newest team to grace the schedule of both the Clark Griffith and Old Dominion Leagues in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Hailing from some of the most competitive baseball region in the mid-Atlantic, the members of this team have recently completed successful high school careers and now begin their college and university adventure. The coaching and administrative staff have a lengthy legacy with youth baseball in Northern Virginia.
Jack Carney
Mr. Carney is the Chairman of the Carney Foundation, an organization created to help support young athletes in their overall personal development toward a successful adult life. Known for his intense focus and perseverance, Mr. Carney lettered eleven times in three sports at Washington & Lee High School as a star in each sport. He was a halfback, point guard, and pitcher captaining several of the teams toward success. He received six scholarship offers in different sports and went on to play semi-pro baseball before his third knee operation sidelined him.
