The Pirates (22-9) finish on the good end of an extra-inning squeaker, featuring two of the league’s premier starting pitchers, Kyle Hald (ODU) and Matt Crouse (Ole Miss), with a victory against the nationally ranked (#6) Vienna Senators (24-6) on a hot and humid July 16 evening. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth inning and the Pirates in the batter’s box, the Senators experienced a series of miscues that loaded the bases. Zach Costello then singled to right center allowing Matt Murakami to score and the game was over with a final score of 2 to 1. You can find details for every inning in the stats, below.
