Pirates Raid DC and Defeat Grays

Carney Pirates (16-7) completed a road trip into DC on July 8 to meet and beat the DC Grays (9-13) at Maury Wills Field with a final score of 6 to 4. The Pirate pitchers held the Grays to 7 hits. Mike Mitchell (St. John’s) started the game, followed by Reed Bromley (Tennessee Wesleyan) and Adam Young (Lafayette). Mike Manfro (Greensboro College) closed.
Pirate bats produced 7 hits. Rob Lamas (Radford) has his 2nd HR, with 3 RBI’s. Rob then had another single that produced an additional RBI. Additional hits were provided by Jake Huxtable (Central Florida), Brett Bowers (ECU), Chad Morgan (Virginia Tech), Matthew Murakami (Maryland) and John Ralston (Rider).
