After a Weekend off, the Carney Pirates (15-6) were back in action against the Southern Maryland Cardinals (11-11).  Carney Pirate pitchers  Connor Mielock (Oakland University), Tyler McElhenny (Christopher Newport), and  Brad Wimmer (Frederick JUCO), allowed 15 hits, 9 runs, and 4 strikeouts.  Pirate Defense also allowed 3 costly errors, concluding in a 5-9 loss to the Cardinals.

Pirate bats produced 8 hits.   Matt Snyder (Ole’ Miss) went 2-5, with a HR, Dbl, 2 RBI’s, and a Run.   Zach Costello (Radford) had a Trpl along with a run, and John Ralston (Rider) went 2-5.  Additional singles were produced by Brett Bowers (ECU), Alex Guerra (Radford), and George Piccirilli (VMI).

Carney Pirates are back in action tonight at Nellis Stadium against the CGL leaders the Vienna Senators.  Game time is 7:00 pm.
