Pirates Steal from the Senators

The Carney Pirates (12-4) were able to take a game on the CGL leading Vienna Senators (15-4) with a 4-1 win. The Pirate pitchers held the Senators to 7 hits. Conner Mielock (Oakland) pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 run, and 2 strikeouts. In middle relief, Reed Bromley (Tennessee Wesleyan) stepped in for 2 shut out innings , followed by Brad Wimmer (Frederick JUCO) for 1 inning, allowing 1 hit, 2 strikeouts. Closer, Mike Manfro (Greensboro College) came in the 9th inning allowing 1 hit with 2 strikeouts.
The Carney Pirate bats again were hot and produced 13 hits. George Piccirilli (VMI) went 3-3, Dbl, 2 runs, Matt Snyder (Ole’ Miss) went 3-4, with a RBI, 1 Run, Brett Bowers (ECU) went 2-3, RBI, and singles by Zach Costello (Radford), RBI, Chad Morgan (Virginia Tech), RBI, Mike Snyder (Ole’ Miss), Matthew Murakami (Maryland), and Alex Guerra (Radford).
