Hitting Tips for Carney Pirates

As Johnny Knoxville would say, “Pirates Don’t Try This at Home!” or you could end up like Steve O.
And as Coach Rowland would say, “Don’t try this at practice” and as our Carney Pirates Corporate Lawyers, Mssrs. Litt and Gator would advise, “Don’t even watch this”. RT sent us a video of his Pirate teammates Evan and Matt practicing their swing during a rainout, but I don’t know if I can believe him (heck, I don’t even know if I can trust myself). Take a look below:

I’m not certain that’s them, Matt certainly throws that fast, but has better control and Evan has curlier hair. Well, with that out of the way…
Three Hitting Tips You Can Actually Use
1) Get into the habit of constructively evaluating your at bats. After a game, mentally replay your at bats, turning four at bats into twelve, giving you more experience. Even bad at bats can be turned into a positive value, if you take the time and discipline to learn a lesson from it.
2) Consistently use Batting Practice to perfect your swing. Train yourself to take quality swings, every pitch. Remember: Practice doesn’t make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.
3) One on the easiest, yet most powerful ways to gain control on the field and play the game one pitch at a time, is a deep breath. It puts focus on the present moment and helps you slow down the game and regain your mental balance to fully utilize your physical skills.
